SHAWN HARRIS and Friends

Standing 6'-5", Shawn's stage presence and larger-than-life comedic persona grab you from the moment he walks on stage. Shawn began his comedy career in 1994 in New York City. He reached his first milestone at Caroline's Comedy Club, where he received 4 standing ovations in one set. In 1999, Shawn was given the opportunity to perform on BET's Comicview, and as a result, he quickly gained notoriety all over the world.. After six performances on BET, Shawn branched out to other networks, including HBO, COMEDY CENTRAL, and NBC. His song, "You've Gotten Fat", a parody of Usher's "You Got It Bad" became a worldwide sensation, getting hundreds of thousands of hits on YouTube and creating a cult following.

Shawn's comedic prowess hasn't gone unnoticed by the entertainment industry, and has garnered him invitations to showcase for the Montreal Comedy Festival and the Aspen Comedy Festival. He has appeared in Music Videos, Stan Up Comedy Tours, National Stage Plays, and charity events. Moreover, Shawn has had 7 different movies showcased in Comedy Film Festivals nationwide, and won "Best Comedic Performances in a Short Film" at the Boston Comedy Film Festivals in 2009 for his role in "John the Angry Mover."

Even more important than his film work, Shawn used his mother Lilly's battle with Alzheimer's disease as motivation to found a non-profit: Lilly's Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Research (LADDR). His guiding principle along the way is simple: "Be Successful, Laugh Your Ass Off. Comedy is Medicine."
